Sincerely 'Fro Me to You...

Im BACK!! I took a break from SFMtY only because I was out of pictures that I wanted to use. My laptop has only more recent photos and I am having a problem getting almost 5 years of photos off my PC. But, I will persevere. I hope.

So, I trudged through our storage unit and found my box of pictures, plugged in my scanner and alas....a picture of my sister & I on my 5th birthday and my first day of school. *I am the smaller one!

Though I don't look overly thrilled (Kindergarten jitters!), this was one of the happiest times I can remember of my childhood. My parents were still married. My sister was still nice to me. My Grandma Alice took my sister & I school shopping and I loooooved my new shoes. My mom put my hair in rollers the night before. With my wavy hair, new dress, shoes & knee-highs...I felt purty.

Aww...what a sweet picture. Don't you love it when girls wore dresses to school?

Thanks for visiting my blog, Jerri's Journey. Our dads wanted their kids to be quiet, too, but the grandkids are another story! I think by the time they had grandkids, they had mellowed.

Funny how photos have come such a long ways from then...even those who take pix now...do so differently...so what's the subject here, two little cute girls or the sidewalk that would take them to school, lol!

That is so sweet and you were so little!

I think that's how Kindergartners should feel: happy.

Because life can be very full of sad moments!

I always loved the first day of school every year...You get to dress in your best with new clothes, new backpack, all new school supplies, your hair all done up. With boys its not the same, they don't get excited like I do. I still get a little excited for my first day every sememster... except for I usually have my hair in a clip and I am wearing baggy yoga pants and a tee shirt to class! But there is just something about new school supplies that gets me excited! Weird, I know.

I really didn't mean for my comment to be all about me. Sorry! I think this pic is adorable (love the socks!).

I would have never guessed you were so little...when I look at you and your sister side by side these days...aren't you the taller one?

:)

I mean I could snap your sisters bones with tweezers...not that I would...but just sayin.

:) And I used to love sleeping in rollers and unraveling them the next day to see what treasured hairdo I would have! :)

Love ya...

It's funny how one little photo can spark such vivid memories. The photo is just too cute.

With all that you described, I think we might be long lost sisters! ;-)
